Who & when did they change the atlas to read North America instead of CANADA? We are nothing like the Americans we faught for our rights to be called Canada.All the maps I grew up with stated CANADA not North America. Who gave who the right to change it.

Flight path from Australia to North America - Why choose the circuitous way? Hi Guys, I have this seemingly stupid question. I searched a lot for the answer but couldn't find a cogent argument. Here it goes: What is the distance between Australia and USA when measured over the Oceania and the pacific ocean. From the atlas, it appears that the two continents are only separated by the pacific ocean. Then why do flights that fly from Australia to the USA prefer to fly over Asia, Africa and Europe when they can fly over the pacific and reach in a much shorter time? I don't know if I'm making sense but I've this curiosity since a long time and want to put it to rest!

Weather climate and politics ? I have recently found a 5 to 8 degree C gap in the averages of the far north listed average Atlas of Canada 1981 to listed average Yahoo weather -- No surprise if you look into other places --- it is the same story although not at big When you look up the averages now --it more of less matches the temps offered by the weather forecasts --- but they have clearly "updated" those averages - What disturbs me is they didn't bother to tell anyone and the past averages seem to have all disappeared unless you own old books and Atlas's your screwed 1)Are politicians scientists and media outlets being up front enough with the public about climate changes ? 2) Do you get the impression there is a purposeful misdirection from the weather in the news and by politicians and other media sources and or scientists reports 3) When it is discussed do you believe that an endless debate about cause is used as a distraction from telling people what is actually happening ? 4) What is the weather and or climate where you live ? I need to ask a favor of EVERYBODY!!!? I work in tourism in Central America and I have had many North-Americans or United States citizens call and tell me they "Are from America" or that they are "traveling in from America" and I want help from everybody to stop the ignorance. Does genetics disprove the Book of Mormon? Especially Evangelical Protestants? Tell me what you think about all of this? Evangelical Protestants don't let secular geneticists saying "Genetic inference shows we are cousins with apes" and "Noah's Ark is a fake" get in their way, but are excited to use the same genetics against the Book of Mormon (kind of hypocritical?). Although many scientists believe this X2 was prehistoric, many scientists say that DNA molecular clock can only be support for but not prove how many years ago a lineage group split, because DNA molecular clock is based on statistical inference and not direct evidence; plus scientists often say that the DNA molecular clock can often be off by millions of years compared to what fossils say. So is it even reasonable to believe that whatever this group was, that it was prehistoric? Plus if a group as small as Lehi's family came across 600 BC, they could fit in really well and Native Americans could easily never even have their Lehite's DNA detected through their direct direct mother's nor father's lines, but still be ancestors of many Native Americans all over the place. Most Jews today don't have very common resemblance with their mitochondrial direct mother's line DNA, and you become a Jew through your mother's line. Judah and Manasseh (Coat of many colors Joseph's son) had different wives, so descendants would have different direct mother's lines. Remember, the Book of Mormon claims the Lehites came from the tribe of Manasseh, not Judah (the Jews). Lehi's ancestors migrated to the southern Kingdom of Judah before the Assyrians destroyed the northern Kingdom of Israel and spread them out all over the place. The Samaritans also mixed in with some from the lost tribes of Israel. The Druze of northern Israel also had some mingling with the Samaritans a thousand years ago, and the Druze have mostly been to themselves since then. The Druze have 11% mitochondrial lineage group X2, and 26% lineage X altogether. Interesting thought. So what are everyones' thoughts about this? When people argue about Ancient Egyptians, are they thinking of the whole history or just the very first ones? You don't have to read the rest of this. Answer the question above. I put this together some months ago about Ancient Egypt period, not just the first ones or the ones that migrated to Egypt. Also this could be broken down proving each of Africans in Egypt, Arabs in Egypt and European in Egypt. So I decided to post this putting eveything I know together. About 30% is Black(mostly Nubian, some Nilotic), Black/Arab admixture-the Berbers and Moors are essentially Arabs with 8-15% Black heritage, and 5% all other ethnicities. The confusion comes about because Afro centrists want to claim the Black Nubians/people of Kemet were Ancient Egyptians. Ancient Nubia encompassed the lower Southwestern corner of present day Egypt(annexed in 1520 B.C.), the remainder being present day Sudan. Additionally, there were Black Nubian Pharoahs for an extremely short time frame from 800-700 B.C.. Many of the Pharoahs do exhibit admixture-Black/Arab mix as would be expected when two or more ethnicities are in close contact. Interestingly, National Geographic sponsored three professional team - American, Egyptian, and French to produce busts from x-rays of King Tut's mummy. The Egyptians and French were told whom they were working on, the Americans were not. Remarkably, the three teams came up with very similar looking busts, all three claiming King Tut was Caucasian. My opinion is, King Tut appears of mixed Black/Arab heritage for the following reasons-he demonstrates a pronounced external occipital protuberance, almond shaped eyes, pronounced high cheek bones, scoop shoveled, teeth, and slightly fuller lips than most Caucasian - all Black features. He demonstrates a high forehead, pronounced, narrow nose, lips thinner than the average Black, oval head structure, and a recessed jaw ( most Blacks exhibit non medical prognathism-jaw slightly pronounced) - White features.
