Anyway to make a Mio C230 GPS with Asia software work with USA maps?

Hi. I bought a Mio GPS in Singapore but realised that the chip or whatever it has in it is zone specific. Is there anyway to make it work with USA maps and if so, where can I get it for testing. I don't mind paying if it works.
