Winter Olympic 2010, when they introduce countries, why do they use USA map as reference?

I'm watching the Winter Olympic 2010. As of now, they are introducing the countries. When each country come out, the lower left corner of the TV shows where the country is on the world map. Why do they show USA map first (as the reference) before showing that country's spot on the world map? Why not Canada?

1. Because you're watching a USA broadcast of the Olypmics, and NBC's trying to provide a point of reference for Americans. The company that is broadcasting in Canada is probably doing something similar with their map.
2. Because you are watching it on an American new network (I am assuming). They want people in the USA to relate the country to where they are. In China, they most likely are using China as a reference on the map.
3. Well thats Easy. Its because Americans Don't know where any of these countries are except for their own.
4. Because you are watching it in the united states. If you were in Canada they would probably use a Canadian map as a reference.
