Do the US media ever consult an atlas when talking about places outside the USA?
Because they need to. Views please, what do you call the place where all those Burmese died? Could it possibily be Burma, as suggested by the UN, The Red Cross and the BBC, in fact everywhere but the states.

- Why what did the american media call it?
- Uuuuuhhhhh..... For your information it is the ruling government that changed to name of Burma to Myanmar. Look it up. The U.S. media is only using the currently correct name for that country. Burma or, by decree of the current ruling military junta, the Union of Myanmar is the largest country by geographical area in mainland Southeast Asia.
- thats funny because the UN guy this morning on the news (US station) called it Myanmar.
- the question should be do they know what an atlas is for?
- If the American news media did go by a current atlas, people would see the proper name for the country is: Pyidaungzu Myanma Naingngandaw I think Myanmar works just fine.
- Burma is now Myanmar. It is sad to see the death toll rising; happens all the time, in such a case. About US, L0L. Wonder if you heard what Bush comments. He should learn some Geography too.
- Do they know what is an Atlas? Do they know what is a map? Do they know what is a compass? Do they know what is geography? Do they know what is physical contour of the land and environment? Basic needs on survival in time. Mostly they know what the satellite tells them in real time. And what shown on TV. Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49 What do you think?
